Moon Calendar — April 2020
The Moon's zodiac sign for every day of April 2020, with sign-change times and all four phases — computed from real planetary positions. Times are UTC.
The Moon in April 2020
In April 2020 the Moon changes zodiac sign 13 times and passes through all 12 signs. It starts the month in Cancer on April 1 and ends it in Leo on April 30. Counting the sign it occupies at noon UTC each day, it spends the most days in Cancer (4 days), Leo (3 days) and Aquarius (3 days).
The main lunar phases this month are: First Quarter on April 1 in Cancer, Full Moon on April 8 in Libra, Last Quarter on April 14 in Capricorn, New Moon on April 23 in Taurus and First Quarter on April 30 in Leo.
For context: the Moon circles the zodiac in about 27.3 days, so it usually stays in one sign for roughly 2 to 2.5 days before moving on. Its phases follow the longer synodic month of about 29.5 days — the time from one new moon to the next — which is why each phase lands on a different date every month. All times here are UTC, so a sign change or phase near midnight may fall on the neighboring date in your time zone.
