Moon Calendar — May 2022
The Moon's zodiac sign for every day of May 2022, with sign-change times and all four phases — computed from real planetary positions. Times are UTC.
The Moon in May 2022
In May 2022 the Moon changes zodiac sign 13 times and passes through all 12 signs. It starts the month in Taurus on May 1 and ends it in Gemini on May 31. Counting the sign it occupies at noon UTC each day, it spends the most days in Gemini (5 days), Taurus (4 days) and Leo (3 days).
The main lunar phases this month are: First Quarter on May 9 in Leo, Full Moon on May 16 in Scorpio, Last Quarter on May 22 in Pisces and New Moon on May 30 in Gemini.
For context: the Moon circles the zodiac in about 27.3 days, so it usually stays in one sign for roughly 2 to 2.5 days before moving on. Its phases follow the longer synodic month of about 29.5 days — the time from one new moon to the next — which is why each phase lands on a different date every month. All times here are UTC, so a sign change or phase near midnight may fall on the neighboring date in your time zone.
