Moon Calendar — February 2023

In February 2023 the Moon changes zodiac sign 12 times and passes through all 12 signs. It starts the month in Gemini on February 1 and ends it in Gemini on February 28. Counting the sign it occupies at noon UTC each day, it spends the most days in Gemini (3 days), Leo (3 days) and Libra (3 days).

The main lunar phases this month are: Full Moon on February 5 in Leo, Last Quarter on February 13 in Scorpio, New Moon on February 20 in Pisces and First Quarter on February 27 in Gemini.

For context: the Moon circles the zodiac in about 27.3 days, so it usually stays in one sign for roughly 2 to 2.5 days before moving on. Its phases follow the longer synodic month of about 29.5 days — the time from one new moon to the next — which is why each phase lands on a different date every month. All times here are UTC, so a sign change or phase near midnight may fall on the neighboring date in your time zone.
