Moon Calendar — February 2024

In February 2024 the Moon changes zodiac sign 13 times and passes through all 12 signs. It starts the month in Libra on February 1 and ends it in Scorpio on February 29. Counting the sign it occupies at noon UTC each day, it spends the most days in Libra (3 days), Scorpio (3 days) and Sagittarius (3 days).

The main lunar phases this month are: Last Quarter on February 2 in Scorpio, New Moon on February 9 in Aquarius, First Quarter on February 16 in Taurus and Full Moon on February 24 in Virgo.

For context: the Moon circles the zodiac in about 27.3 days, so it usually stays in one sign for roughly 2 to 2.5 days before moving on. Its phases follow the longer synodic month of about 29.5 days — the time from one new moon to the next — which is why each phase lands on a different date every month. All times here are UTC, so a sign change or phase near midnight may fall on the neighboring date in your time zone.
